Bled Sweet Legend
In Bled, stories are not born loudly, but in the silence of the lake, among the mists and the reflections of the mountains that have guarded its secrets for centuries.
One of them tells of a sunken bell that is said to echo quietly from the depths to this day.
It was this legend that inspired a unique sweet story, the chocolate bell.
The Legend of the Sunken Bell
The young widow Poliksena had a bell cast in memory of her husband, for the little church on the island. While it was being carried across the lake, a storm caught the boat and the bell sank into the depths. The Pope later sent a new bell to the island. Whoever rings it has their wish granted.
From legend to a sweet story
The idea of the chocolate bell was born from the wish to create something more than just a sweet.
The result is a praline that combines tenderness, elegance and symbolism.

When the legend comes alive on the lake
Every year on Christmas Day the legend of the sunken bell comes alive on Lake Bled. The event is organised by Bled Tourism together with the Bled Underwater Activities Society.
A legend you can taste
The chocolate bell is therefore not just a praline, but a symbol.
It is a tribute to Bled's heritage, to the art of creation and to the moments we wish to preserve.
